Yeah, in my opinion, 98SE is also the best...

ME... agh... I hated it...

As Dan said, the Buu kernel Sin coded is supposed to be amazing... havent actually had a chance to try it yet though  :?

XP is on one of my desktops, the family PC, but I absolutely hate it... and it hates me... It's a thing we have.

The only problem i find with 98 is that unpatched, as with anything really, its extremerly vulnerable..
Most of these "Nukers" you find out here on the net use the exploit in windows 98 for the "out-of-bandwidth" shite..

Oh yeh, did you guys know that with l0phtcrack you can crack/reveal XP logon passwords..i tried it the other day out of interest and it revealed in clear text after cracking the HASH my password.. Cheesy
I probably sound so lame saying that coz everyone already knows it Tongue

depends on the use. For a home user with only one PC, Windows 98 SE is hands-down the best choice. Let's face it, what's the big hole in Win98? NetBios. If that's shut down, maybe you can DoS 'em but what'll that really do? Now, for use in an netwroking environment (home or office) Windows 2000 Professional is my favorite. I'm not too comfortable with XP, too much shit keeps popping up about it, and I've found 2K to be easier to work with. But on my PC's at home, I typically use Red Hat Linux. It's easy to use, easily configurable, easily secured and I enjoy laughing at emails that contain viruses. I mean, simply the lack of viruses makes Linux my choice, don't have to have an AV running, don't have to worry about the "latest update" and shit like that. I just wish more programs were Linux portable (and yeah, I know it's coming, but I want it NOW! LOL).

when i get my new harddrive a small portion of it is going to goto win98se or maybe just straight DOS because XP and the future windows wont support it at all.

XP is pretty decent in my opinion, i have all my settings so that it looks and feels and navigates just like windows 98. perhaps u guys shold do that, in the toolbar and scheme settings.

WinME is a fat fuck that can't tell its kernal from its gui. It works ok when it's working, but I work on the IT staff of a big company, and fixin probs, esp network probs, is impossible.

lol I'm a nix guy myself

I had win2k running on my desktop, but i switched to XP. Yeah, i heard is was less stable. but i'll check it out anyway. My win2k box just has uptime's of like 1 month, and after that i'll just reboot is as a precaution. I'm hoping to run winXP just as well as i did with win2k. The best improvement i think is the time to boot, but since i almost never shut my computer down i realy dont give a fuck. ohh, and XP is far more pretty Cheesy

ME: Works fine until you get the bluescreenofdeath again and again and again...

98SE: Verry stable and fast to use, only misses some important functions (problems with USB2 etc...)

XP: Works fine but somethimes to slow. I also think it is anoying for professionals because of the user friendly messages etc...
